The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said:
The likeness of a righteous companion is that of the seller of musk: either he will give you a gift, or you will buy something from him, or you will smell a pleasant fragrance from him.
There are three things that you will benefit from a righteous companion.

1. Either he will give you an advice without you asking for it.
2. If not, you will learn from the way he talks and behaves even if he does not talk.
3. If not this or that, you will benefit from being associated with him when people ask about you and then come to know that you are an associate of this righteous person.
Allah says: Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious).
